OMEA District 05

PRESIDENT

Keith Chaiet is the Director of Bands at Mountain View High School in Bend, Oregon. Keith earned his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Idaho, and a Master of Music in Conducting from Southern Oregon University. With over 20 years of experience as a music educator, Keith is passionate about building culture in the classroom, advocating for the performing arts, and collaborating with his music educator colleagues. Keith is proud to have worked with bands and students representing Mountain View High School at local, regional, and state festivals. He and his wife Erin have two daughters who share his passion for music. When not directing the bands at Mountain View, Keith enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing a round of golf, and growing a beard.

TREASURER & WEBMASTER

Cooper Ottum is the band director at Summit High School in Bend, OR. At Summit, Cooper has worked with students who have participated in local, state, and regional level events, including the OSAA State Solo contest, OMEA State Chamber Music contest, Western International Band Clinic, and OSAA State Band Championships. Cooper studied composition at University of Southern California and University of Missouri-Kansas City. He earned Bachelor of Music in Music Education and Master of Music in Conducting degrees from Central Washington University, where he was the teaching assistant for the CWU Bands. Cooper is proud to work with COMEA and other music communities in Central Oregon!

SECRETARY

Belinda Sisson is the Director of Choirs at Ridgeview High School in Redmond Oregon. She has her Master’s Degree in Art and Teaching and her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the College of Liberal Arts at Oregon State University. She has served as the Collegiate
NAfME representative on the Board of the Oregon Music Educators Association.

MEMBERSHIP CHAIR

Kelly Moore is the Director of Bands at Ridgeview High School in Redmond, OR. She has her Bachelor of Secondary Instrumental Music Education and her Master of Music in Music Education from The University of Oregon. During her time at the U of O, Kelly studied flute performance with Molly Barth and served as a music education Graduate Teaching Fellow for Dr. Frank Diaz. Kelly is the current OMEA District 05 President and the current OBDA Central Oregon Regional Representative. As well as being a native to Central Oregon since 1994, she has spent 8 of her 9 years as a band director in the Redmond School district, the last three at Ridgeview High. Kelly is on staff with the Oregon Ambassadors of Music.
